Albany - After Georgia Southern ran up more than over 400 yards in offense against Georgia last year, everyone was asking what is wrong with the Bulldog "D".
Not many were giving credit to the Georgia Southern offense.
The Georgia Southern spread offense is one reason why the Eagles have won six Division 1-AA.
Georgia Southern fans in southwest Georgia came to the Rocket restaurant Monday night to get the 2005 scouting report from Eagles assistant coach Doug Giacone.
Giacone coaches defensive backs but the question all Eagle fans have is who will replace Chaz Williams at quarterback.
Jayson Foster may be the Eagles starter against Northeastern on September third but coach Giacone says the final decision by head coach Mike Sewak will not come until August.
The Eagles quarterback will be handing off a lot to fullbacks Jermaine Austin and Brandon Andrews.
Doug Giacone said "We are expecting big things out of Jermaine and Brandon this year and they have always been there for us in the past and I think they are going to help Jayson mature and help him out as the season progresses."
Doug Giacone taking over the southwest Georgia for Albany's Mark Williams. Williams, who was the Eagles offensive line coach, has left his alma mater to become the offensive coordinator at the Naval Academy prep school in Rhode Island.
