Robber leaves accomplice behind

Albany -- Albany Police are looking a man wanted for robbing a convenience store Sunday afternoon, and leaving his female accomplice behind.

23 year old Vanessa Schwark is in the Dougherty County jail, charged with robbery. Investigators say Schwark went into the Oasis Convenience store on North Slappey a couple of times Sunday to case it out, then returned with 29 year old Gene Jenkins about 4:45.

Albany Police Lt. Tracey Barnes said "They gave the impression they were going to buy something. When the drawer was open, the gentleman pushed the clerk back, and snatched money. Then took off."

And when he took off, he left the woman behind. Schwark was still at the store when Police arrived, and was arrested.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Jenkins. He is believed to be driving a tan 1998 Buick Century.
