Berryhill upholds family tradition in track

Albany- Lee County sophomore Yolanda Berryhill comes from a family of athletes.

Her older sister Gloria won the AAA state shot put title in 1998.

Seven years later, Yolanda Berryhill throws the shot 38'6" on her final attempt to win the AAAA title by four inches over Cedar Shoals Teannah Holland.

In the afternoon, Yolanda did something Gloria never did, win a state discus title.

Yolanda Berryhill won the AAAA discus title with throw of 120'.

Tift County's Janice Jordan won a second straight AAAAA discus title.

Jordan won the title on her first attempt that measured at 144'5".

Westover's Kiana Key finished second to teammate Brittany Brown in last year's AAA triple jump.

Key saved her best jump of the season for the biggest meet of the year.

Key flew 38'5" to win the third straight AAA triple jump title for the Lady Patriots.

Westover, the defending AAA state champion, is second behind Carrollton heading into Saturday's final in the track events.
