Albany- A South Georgia student's artwork will soon hang in the U-S Capitol.

Deerfield Windson senior Stephanie Shopp drew the winning picture in the annual second district Congressional Art Competition. Shopp is excited about the honor and about travelling to Washington in June to see her entry placed in a hallway wall in the Capitol building.

"I did it last year actually. It was a picture that I found I think it was in a National Geographic magazine in the art room from I think the 70's or sometime then," said Shopp.

Kristy Swann from Brookwood received an honorable mention. Joy Fulton from Albany High placed third, and Michael Clark from Westover placed second in the competition.
