Investigation of Albany man's death continues

Albany -- Investigators confirm an East Albany man was killed by a gunshot to the chest Tuesday, but they still have not determined if it was murder. A co-worker found 66-year old Jimmy Medders dead in his home on East Roosevelt Avenue.

Blood was found outside the front door, and there was a derringer in the living room where he was found.

Albany police won't say anything else about the case, but asks for the public's help. Lt. Tracey Barnes said "Anytime someone does call in with a lead, and we do encourage people anybody who does have information to please contact us."

Investigators say they continue to treat the case as a homicide until they determine if it was murder or suicide.
