Albany -- Ecstasy pills and marijuana, worth more than 30 thousand dollars on the street, are seized early Friday morning in an Albany drug bust.

About two A.M. 28-year-old Karloes Ponder of Albany and 27-year-old Datril Williams were arrested in the drive thru lane of Wendys' at Slappey and Dawson Road. Inside the car, drug agents found a five-pound block of marijuana, and 400 ecstasy pills. Ponder was also carrying a .380 semi-automatic pistol.

Drug agents had been watching the two suspects. A.D.D.U. Drug Commander Bill Berry said "Maybe six or seven months. Developing patterns, and movement, and trips, things like that. Last night during one of these checkings they saw some of these patterns developing. Actually observed the vehicle up in Dawson, Georgia."

Major Berry said the bust shows that ecstasy is still a popular drug in South Georgia.

Both Ponder and Williams are being held in the Dougherty County Jail.
