Albany - Goodwill is the world's leading nonprofit provider of training and career services for people with disabilities, welfare recipients and other job seekers. The proposals seek to limit the deduction for clothing and household goods to $500 per year, and Goodwill representatives say that's too low.
Cheryl Myers says, "Worst case scenario, it may mean we can train fewer people for jobs and fewer people get jobs because they wouldn't get the training that we provide, which is free. I mean, we pay for it through the money we raise in the stores."
Goodwill is asking people to contact their senators and representatives about this issue.
