Echols County- Two men with green thumbs are now behind bars. A search warrant issued for a house on Judge McDonald Lane in Echols County turned up 16 pounds of green marijuana late Saturday night.

The marijuana had been picked from the stems and was being prepared to dry. It was being packaged in bags marked home grown in the USA.

Arrested were 43 year-old Ollie Padgett Junior, on charges of trafficking marijuana, manufacturing, and possession with intent to deliver.

Charles Hill also consented to a search of the trailer he was living in on the property. There, police found more marijuana buds and a closet that had been turned into a drying room. He's facing charges of possession with intent to deliver.

Both men are being held in the Lowndes County Jail.
