Moultrie- It turned out to be a great day for anything outside, especially Olympic competition.

In Moultrie, Colquitt County Special Olympics teams took part in the Spring Games. Many fine athletes come through Special Olympics, where kids who may not get to compete on other levels get to experience the thrill of competing and winning.

"And those that may not have a chance to compete at a varsity or an intramural level, so this is kind of their time to shine," said Grant Hammock of Colquitt County Special Olympics. "It's their time to be athletically successful."

Many special Olympic athletes go on to compete and win in state competitions.
