Albany-- Climax native and Georgia Tech free safety James Butler has landed with an NFL team. Butler has signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants.
A two time All ACC selection for the Jackets, Butler finished his career with 240 tackles and 7 interceptions.
The former Bainbridge high standout was also a two time semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, given annually to the nation's top defensive back.
Butler was projected to be a mid to late round pick over the weekend, but was never drafted.
