Thomasville- "National Laboratory Week" activities aren't just seminars and meetings on how to improve operations.

Archbold Hospital in Thomasville is lightening the mood in its lab with contests, trivia, and a 70's theme. Doctors say the routine in the lab can become monotonous, and that this week offers workers a break. "We use it to break down walls, to shake up the routine, to let different departments, in a less formal atmosphere, and with no deadlines, get to talk and chat," says Dr. Jeff Byrd, M.D.

Doctors add that administrators at Archbold take lab week seriously. Archbold is home to this year's "Hospital Laboratory of the Year."
