Moultrie- Authorities received a call at about 3:45 a.m. Sunday morning to respond to an assault but what they found was much more.
Yellow tape still surrounds the home on Tallokas Street in Moultrie. Investigators say Christopher Adams entered the home where he used to live with his wife. He then shot and killed her 19 year old brother as he slept in the living room.
Police say Adams then proceeded to the bedroom where his wife slept, attacked and attempted to shoot her as well. He then shot himself under the chin. Investigators arrived to a barricaded door. Next door neighbors were awakened to the gun shots.
"She said he shot her brother with the rifle and she didn't hear it and he came in the bedroom and tried to kill her three times and she said she kept kicking until she finally managed to get to her phone and call 911 so that's how she got away," says neighbor Esther Lashley.
Neighbors also say the woman was afraid of her husband and that her brother was actually there at the home to protect her from Adams. She has been treated and released from the hospital. Christopher Adams is currently in stable condition in the hospital.
The case is still under investigation so the victim's names are not being released.
