Worth County- We had a longer and colder winter than we usually do in South Georgia.

The freezing temperatures and then all the recent rain had strawberry producers worried about their crop. But at Calhoun Produce in Worth County they were busy picking and filling their buckets Friday.

The strawberries are in peak season right now.

"Through the peak of the season, it's looking better than it did at the first with the rain, but no, it's not as good as we'd hoped, but, hey, I'm proud of 'em," said William Holloway, of Calhoun Produce.

The strawberry season runs through May.
