Wildcats confident headed to Florida

April 20, 2005

Albany - At 0-2, the South Georgia Wildcats know they need to win this week.

The problem for the Cats is that this week's opponent, the Florida Firecats are the defending
Arena 2 champions.

The Wildcats though are heading to Fort Myers this weekend thinking they can hand the unbeaten Firecats their first loss of the season.

New quarterback Bobby Pesavento, who threw seven touchdowns in last week's loss at Louisville, should be even more comfortable with his team after another week of practice.

What head coach Chris Siegfried is not happy with are the mistakes his team has made in their first two games.

Mistakes they cannot make against an aggressive opponent this week.

Siegfried said, "The reason why Florida wins is because they get after it. They 're not more talented then us they're not more talented than some of the teams they've played, but their effort is tremendous. And a lot of times effort overcomes a lot of mistakes."

Pesavento said,"We're going down there expecting to win and that's what we're getting ready for and it's going to be our first win but it's going to be the first of a lot this season."

Fort Myers was a friendly place for the Cape Fear Wildcats who are 2-0 on the Firecats home turf.
