Leesburg - Lee County outfielder Jeremiah Thompson will get the chance to continue his baseball career at the college level.
Jeremiah Thompson signed a scholarship with Andrew College Wednesday morning at the Lee County High School Media Center.
In his first full season as a starter, Jeremiah Thompson is batting .324 with four doubles and has driven in eight runs.
Thompson says he really likes Andrew's new coach Scott Hemmings who has told Jeremiah that he will do what he can to help Thompson reach his goal of playing of playing for a four year school after his junior college career is over.
Jeremiah Thompson said "I feel like the opportunities are just whatever I feel like I can do because coach Hemmings has already told me that if I want to get to the next level he will get me there it will just be up to me whether I want it or not."
Lee County is 15- 2 and on the road Thursday night at Crisp County.
