APD standoff ends, search is on

Albany-- Ronald Lane was reportedly firing shots around 9:00 Monday night from his 604 Mitchell Avenue home. No one was hurt from those shots, but police were called to the scene and stayed through the night, but now Lane cannot be found.

Lane held up inside and would not come out. His elderly mother who lives with him told police that she is not hurt, and was not concerned about her son.

Authorities are planning to charge him with discharging a firearm in the city, IF they can find him. Lt. Tracey Barnes of Albany Police tell us,"Anybody who would fire off a round in the middle of the neighborhood we need to take seriously and you know we feel like there may be some type of problem you know, that's why we are trying to get him out."

Ronald Lane did talk to WALB News 10 on the phone last night and says that he did not fire a weapon. Neighbors however told us that Lane is a constant problem and regularly fires a gun from his yard and that they do fear for their safety.
