Valdosta - A nine month old baby is dead after being left alone.

Twenty three year old Quinton Shackelford was watching four children when he went outside.

When he returned, he found the nine month old unresponsive on the floor unresponsive.

"Upon finding the child, we believe he did not respond in an adequate manor in getting emergency personnel to the adequate amount of time," said Lt. Bernard Robinson of the Valdosta Police Department.

For now, Shackelford is charged with reckless conduct. An autopsy will determine if more charges will be filed.
