Two newest Chehaw residents make themselves at home

Albany- Workers at the park are helping the two new rhinos, "W" and "Sam Houston" to get familiar with their new territory.

Right now, the park has a temporary back trail for guests to view them up close. It's taken a little bit of time and patience to get them to come out to their exhibit area but Sunday, W spent about two hours in the open.

"For the community, it's going to be awesome for them to come out and see such a spectacular animal. For us as the animal care staff, it's wonderful that these animals came from a ranch setting and now are adjusting to the acclamation process here," says assistant curator Joe Darcangelo.

Workers are using food motivation to lure the rhinos out. In June, there will be even more new additions to the park with the opening of the flamingo exhibit.
