Albany- The Albany State softball and tennis teams have made the finals of their respective conference championship tournaments.
The Lady Rams softball team notched two more shutouts as Albany State will play either Benedict or Kentucky State in the finals Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Albany's Highland softball complex.
The Lady Rams beat Miles College 8-0 and then blanked Benedict 9-0 to reach the championship game.
If Albany State loses tomorrow afternoon, the Lady Rams would have to play a second championship game scheduled for Sunday morning.
The Albany State women's tennis team edged LeMoyne-Owen 5-4 and will play in the finals Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Albany State tennis courts.
The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference will have a new baseball champion for the first time in five years.
Four time defending champion Albany State was eliminated from the baseball tournament by Miles College 7-6.
The Bears scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to win the game.
Albany State earlier in the day eliminated Clark Atlanta 21-9 in seven innings.
Miles and Morehouse will play at 11:00 a.m. at the Eames Complex with the winner facing Paine at 3:00 p.m. for the championship.
The Lions have yet to lose in the double elimination tournament.
