Bank gets more room for food

Albany- The Food Bank of Southwest Georgia will provide more than 1 million meals to families in need this year with 4 million pounds of food.

For that, they needed more room. So the Food Bank has moved into a larger location off of Phillips Drive in Albany. There is 45,000 square feet of warehouse instead of the 15,000 square feet available in their previous location on Camp Lane.

"Well, this will give us room to grow, actually give us room to house everything in one warehouse and it's just better overall because it's more organized space and it's room to grow," said Dwayne Myles, executive director and CEO of the Food Bank.

The Food Bank is also plans to create a branch location in Tifton. The Food Bank of Southwest Georgia serves needy families in 20 counties.
