Albany -- Investigators say a fire that destroyed an Albany duplex yesterday was arson.
Neighbors saw flames coming out of this duplex on Auburn Drive in Southwest Albany around 7 Sunday morning. No one was home when firefighters arrived.
Interim Fire Chief James Carswell said they knew the fire was deliberately set because "It had multiple points of origin. Then looking into it we have some statements made by some of the people who live there who pointed us in one particular direction. We have a suspect of interest."
No one has been arrested. Both homes in the duplex sustained fire, smoke and water damage, estimated at $31,000.
