Game attendance exceeds expectations

Albany- Fans turned out in record numbers for the first South Georgia Wildcats game against the Macon Knights.

Many fans also turned out for the first tailgating event at the Civic Center. Organizers knew it would be big but the community helped to exceed expectations.

"We would think that probably somewhere around 4, 5 thousand people would be here but we had actually a record at the civic center for a sporting event. We had over 7,200 people," says general sales manager Tony Natoli.

They hope to see as many or more at the next game at the end of the month.
