Fitzgerald-- A South Georgia mother and daughter have been indicted for the death of an Alzheimer's patient who was living with them.

Seventy-seven-year old Hugh Dorsey Stevens died last year after he had been attacked by Wanda and Candice Chaney's pit bull. During an interview with WALB News 10 Candice Chaney downplayed the possibility Stevens had been attacked by a dog.

A Ben Hill County grand jury indicted both Candice and her mother Wanda Chaney on charges of involuntary manslaughter and making false statements to law enforcement officials.

The prosecutors say the indictment was based on reckless conduct exhibited by the Chaneys.
