Albany- An Albany woman will be part of a White House Conference on aging this fall. Kay Hind has been selected to represent Congressman Sanford Bishop's district this October.

The conference is held every ten years. It will focus on issues that affect American seniors such as social security, health care, retirement, and long term care issues.

Hind says, with most baby boomers entering their sixties these topics are becoming more important.

"It's really very important because it gives people that attend an opportunity to really have a voice in what the government does. This serves as a vice and direction to the president and to the elected officials," said Kay Hind, executive director for the SOWEGA Council on Aging.

The conference will be held October 23 to the 26.
