Valdosta - A South Georgia woman is arrested for trying to steal a baby from a hospital.

Nineteen-year-old Tyrann Marie Jones of Morven is charged with criminal trespass and criminal attempt to commit kidnapping.

Nurses at South Georgia Medical Center found Jones in a post partum room Tuesday afternoon, and didn't recognize her as a patient. They called 911.

Investigators discovered she was trying to take a baby.

"We got information from relatives that she had been telling them she was pregnant for quite some time," said Captain Brian Childress.

Jones had baby clothes and a bassinet with her.
