Albany- EMA officials and public works crews throughout south Georgia have been busy the last couple days handling flooding problems. Dougherty County EMA Director Jim Vaught has some advice for anyone in an area that could be in danger of flooding.

"What we suggest you do is that you monitor the water, you keep an eye on it, you know where it is, you have an evacuation plan ready if you need it. Make arrangements if necessary to stay with relatives but just stay cognizant of what's going on around you," says Vaught.

Workers will be out all night to monitor the situation and to help anyone affected by flooding.
