Train derails in Cook County

Valdosta - A train derailed and caused quite a mess in South Georgia Monday afternoon.

Around 1:00, three cars on the train came off the tracks near the Georgia/Florida Railnet switchyard in Cook County. One of the cars struck a pillar of a bridge but only caused minor cosmetic damage.

The conductor doesn't know what made the train derail. "We don't know yet, its too early to tell, the rail might have broke or something but we're not sure," said John Anderson.

No one was injured and traffic was not affected.
