Easter sales are down

Albany- Those high gas prices may be one reason why many folks aren't spending as much on Easter shopping this year.

Easter items like new outfits for kids are usually big sellers. But this year, Easter sales are expected to be down a billion dollars nationwide.

Lisa Kirkland, the manager at All About Kids in Lee County, has noticed the decrease. Easter is early this year and she says that's affecting sales.

"I feel like next week, this weekend and next week will be great on the sales because people do wait until the last minute and even the sales at the mall, they're still not cutting them that much," Kirkland said.

Remember, Easter is March 27th this year.
