Sylvester-- Arson investigators are looking into a fire at Worth County High School. The fire started around 8:00 Tuesday night in the south wing of the school near the front office.

Prinicpal Russell Sowell says most of the damage was caused by smoke. He says no student activities were going on at the time and janitors were the only ones on campus.

"We have cleaning crews that are here at that time cleaning up after the building's empty, and that's who notified the fire department. As a matter of fact, if they weren't here we would have had a serious problem," says Sowell.

Most of the damage was contained to one classroom and teachers were able to hold classes in another part of the school.

Any one with information should contact Sylvester police or call the State Fire Marshal's arson hotline at 1-800-282-5804.
