Albany -- A Dougherty County jail inmate who escaped from a work detail last week is back behind bars in Albany, and so is the woman he was with when captured.

31-year old Brian James Williams was brought back to the Dougherty County jail Tuesday, and is now being held in maximum security.

Williams ran from a work detail at the Parks at Chehaw March 9, and jumped in a car with a woman. He was captured by Panama City Beach Police just after midnight.

36-year old Melissa Mattox was in the car with Williams. She is now in jail on a probation violation. Mattox has not been charged with helping Williams escape.
