Students or taxpayers with children in college can also save with Lifetime Learning Credit increases.
"Last year, the maximum you could take off was $1,000 and this year, it's been increased to $2,000. The lifetime learning credit is used for college students in their third and fourth year of school," says H & R Block tax specialist Jamila Floyd.
