Cairo- Southwest Georgia drug task force agents have uncovered shady business at the La Pinata shop in Cairo while serving a search warrant.

"It was for the purpose of prescription drugs. They were selling prescription drugs," says task force commander Joey Autrey. But, police say that's not all the shop was selling illegally. "While executing the search warrant, we came across a process where they were manufacturing copyrighted DVDs. They were doing video piracy and CD piracy," he adds.

Authorities arrested two people in the case. 42 year old Asencion Cruz is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. He's also charged with reproducing recorded and copyrighted material. Also arrested was 19-year-olf Juan David. He is facing the same charges as Cruz. Both are in the Grady County Jail.

A small, corner shop in Cairo, and a multi-agency effort, all led to the end of big-time crime in Grady County. "We were working with the Grady County Sheriff's Office and the Cairo Police Department. We seized several hundred DVDs and CDs out of the residence, about $350,000 in cash, and computer equipment that had multiple CD and DVD burners in each unit," says Autrey.

Authorities aren't sure how much time the two suspects may be facing at this point. They say more charges may be filed as their investigation continues.
