Albany -- Judge Rowland Barnes was also a close friend of Chief Dougherty Superior Court Judge Loring Gray.
Judge Gray was shaken as he watched the news in his chambers. He and Judge Barnes had worked together and become good friends. Gray said "Someone you just really enjoyed being around. On the few rare occasions when I had to go to Atlanta to serve on Fulton Superior Court recently, in a complex divorce action, he was the one I always went to visit when I had time off. Because he was delightful to be around, and so well respected."
Judge Gray said Barnes will be greatly missed as a friend and for his wisdom on the bench.
