Man dies in motorcycle crash

Valdosta - A South Georgia man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a van.

The driver of a Yamaha Motorcycle was traveling North on Bemiss Road in Valdosta around 2:30 Friday afternoon when he hit the side of a van. Witnesses tell police that the van was attempting to turn onto Langdale Drive.

The driver of the motorcycle was killed instantly. No one in the van was hurt.

Police are still trying to figure out who was at fault. "I can't comment on any charges because we certainly don't know yet, I've got the crime scene unit and accident reconstruction investigators out here and we're just trying to get more details right now," said Captain Brian Childress.

The driver of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet. His name has not yet been released pending notification of kin.
