Leesburg- Lee County is staying out of the Internet business for now.

Some of the county doesn't have access to DSL or high speed internet. The commission had a proposal to begin offering wireless internet through the county.

If the county got involved, more people would have access to high speed internet. But commissioners decided not to take any action on the proposal this week, so the issue has died for now.

"I think the biggest question is, there general feeling is that it's something more appropriate for the private sector for the public sector to do," said County Administrator Langford Holbrook.

Most of Lee County does not have broadband internet access.
