Jury selection and testimony began today in the pistol-whipping trial of Dawson City Councilman Joseph Breedlove.Breedlove is accused of following 16-year-old Michael Jones to his girlfriend's house, pistol whipping him, then shooting out the tires on the teen's car. Breedlove is charged with aggravated assault, cruelty to a child, possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana.

 Michael Jones took the stand this afternoon describing the events of January 28, 2004 and identifying Breedlove as his attacker. Breedlove is still on the City Council and has been appointed Mayor Pro Tem.
