Albany - You don't have to go to New Orleans to enjoy the fun of Mardi Gras. The downtown Albany Merchant's Association is holding its 3rd annual Mardi Gras celebration Saturday.

Association president Phil Cannon says this year's event is expected to be the largest ever with more than 45 vendors. Family fun starts around noon Saturday with games for kids and live music on Broad Avenue downtown.

Bands continue until midnight. The event is free.
