Tifton- The Local Government Risk Management Services driving simulator stopped in Tifton this week.
It presents more than 80 real world scenarios that officers may have to respond to, including chases. When the driver makes an bad decision the instructor can back the program up and even show them where they went wrong.
"I could see mistakes that I was making, and the other officers were making that you just don't think about until you actually get behind the wheel of it and do it," says Sgt. Scott Bowers of the Tifton Police Department.
All of the officers will go through the program this week. Patrolmen say with the heavy traffic on Highway 82 and Interstate 75 the simulator is the next best thing to actually being on the road.
