Valdosta-- Valdosta State head football coach Chris Hatcher has loved all of the attention he and the Blazers have received over the last few months since claiming the school's first ever national championship in football.
But Hatcher is also ready to get the Blazers back on the field and in a position to defend that title. Tuesday, the Blazers took the first step in doing just that as they opened up spring practice on their North Campus practice fields.
VSU will hold fifteen workouts over the next couple of weeks and wrap up their spring practice with their annual Red-Black game on March 24th at Bazemore Hyder Stadium.
Hatcher hopes these next few weeks will give him a better idea of who will be able to contribute come this fall.
"We only have fifteen days. We have get some good evaluations because going into fall camp we know what this team is able to do come the first ball game next year," Hatcher said.
