Albany -- Medicaid will use Albany State University students to teach South Georgians about the new discount prescription drug card.

Albany State received a 15-thousand dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Health. Students will explain the prescription discount card program to senior citizens, and help them find the best plan for their needs.

Director of Continuing Education Derrick Gilmore said "We actually assess what drugs they are taking, and utilize that to determine what would be the best card for them."

Ten Albany State students, majoring in social work degrees, are working with the discount drug card information program...which is scheduled to continue through April.
