Albany-- Three weeks ago the city of Albany cheered on Deion Branch as he stole the spotlight in Super Bowl 39 in Jacksonville. This Friday Branch will once again be the star of the show, only this time he'll be right here in his hometown.

The Super Bowl 39 M.V.P. will return to Albany for a celebration ceremony at Monroe High, his former school. It's the second straight year Branch has been honored by his alma mater, last year the school retired his jersey after his 10 catch performance in Super Bowl 38.

Of course this year there's more reason to celebrate since Branch claimed the game's most valuable player award after snagging 11 passes for 133 yards in New England's three point win over Philadelphia.

In addition to Friday's ceremony, which will take place at 2:30 p.m. in the Monroe High Gym, Branch will also be inducted into the Albany Sports Hall of Fame on April 25th.
