Albany- Members of the Eureka Missionary Baptist Church held a musical tribute to their heritage at the Ritz Cultural center today.

A special tribute was given to those who are gone, with a symbolic dance. The church also honored Albany Mayor Willie Adams who agrees it's important to remember the past.

"Those who forget the past are doomed, doomed to not do well in the future so, it's a sense of pride and heritage and use it in a very positive fashion," said Adams.

The Mayor is the first recipient of the Eureka Missionary Baptist Church Heritage Award.
