Albany- Albany's interim city manager gives a vote of confidence to civic center managers. Civic Center Director Maddie Goddard came under fire last month when six business leaders complained to the city. They say bad management and an unhelpful staff hurt business at the venue.

In a response, city manager Lem Edwards wrote,  "Based on my analysis thus far, and the absence of specific details regarding your adverse experiences working with Mrs. Goddard and her staff, I do not agree that a change is necessary at the leadership level at this time."
