Albany-- Michael Mulvaney was found guilty of brutalizing a two year old girl, and given a forty year sentence.

The 36-year-old was sentenced to twenty years in prison and twenty years probation. Mulvaney has also been banned from Dougherty County and is not allowed to be in the presence of children without adult supervision.

Police arrested Mulvaney last February after the girl was found with bruises, burns, and cuts.

Some court room witnesses say Michael Mulvaney got off easy, after seeing the evidence of the child's injuries. The jury found Mulvaney guilty of all but one of the aggravated child battery and cruelty to children charges he was on trial for.
