Americus -- A group of drug suspects are accused of getting the start-up capital for their meth operation by scamming Wal-Mart.

Americus police and Sumter Sheriff's investigators say the suspects created fake bar codes. They placed them on expensive items like televisions so they would ring up cheaper at the cash register.

The suspects then returned the items for the real cash value, which they then used to buy ingriedients for making meth.

Investigators arrested 24-year-old Bryan Willis, 49-year-old Sandra Willis and 22-year-old Amber Wainwright.

They face various theft and/or drug charges.

Police say they are hopeful more arrests will be made as a result of their investigation.
