Firefighters teach students fire safety

Albany-- Tuesday morning Firefighters were teaching children how to stay alive in a fire. Just hours after the tragic death of a tenth month Albany boy in a house fire, the Fire Safety House was at Turner Elementary.

Twice a week Firefighters show second graders how to stay low below smoke, and crawl out a window or door to escape a burning house. Lt. Mike Styles said "In case something does happen, they have a sense of training to know how to leave a structure if it is on fire."

Firefighters say they hope the students will talk to their parents about fire safety, and set up an escape plan.
