Thomasville- "Safe Haven" is holding a donor appreciation / "get to know us" night this evening at Pebble Hill Plantation in Thomasville.
The organization mainly provides meals for people with HIV or AIDS, as well as their families. Organization leaders say it's time to thank supporters for everything they've done. "The threat of AIDS is real, and it's out there. Our donors can get out there and spread the word so it's not hush-hush the way it used to be when AIDS first hit," says "Safe Haven" board member Theresa Donaldson.
"Safe Haven" has a large clientele for our region. Last year, it provided thousands of meals at 17-cents each.
