Albany - A man shot and killed himself in front of two Lee County deputies trying to serve a warrant on him. 50-year-old Kenneth Nichols was staying at a friend's house on Creek Drive.
When deputies tried to serve him with a probation violation warrant, Nichols met them in the yard with a pistol. GBI agents say Nichols told the deputies he wasn't going to hurt them, but he wasn't going back to jail.
