Albany-- A former Albany police officer, charged with leading a shoplifting ring pleads guilty. In a plea deal with the district attorney, Melissa Albritten pled guilty Monday to violation of oath of office.

Albritten was arrested last year on charges she shoplifted from the T. J. Maxx department store.

After her arrest, prosecutors said she was the ringleader of a shoplifting ring, and was even stealing while wearing her APD uniform.

But they dropped the shoplifting charges against her, and now she'll be sentenced on the oath of office charge.

Albritten was dismissed from APD on July 29th of last year.
