Albany- Friday the students at Magnolia Elementary School held their Black History Program.
They danced, sang, and recited poetry. The cheerleaders even did a special tribute to the late Ray Charles.
"I was hoping that the kids and I think they did see where our heritage came from and remember the past like the theme says, remember the past, and embrace on the present of what they can do now, and build on the future," Sharon Roberts.
Several students dressed of like notable African Americans including politician Shirley Chisolm and Albany's own Alice Coachman.
